Seventh Principle of Kwanzaa is called IMANI

IMANI ~ means Faith. The final day of Kwanzaa celebrations.

"To believe, with all our heart, in our Creator, our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders, and the righteousness and victory of our struggle." ~Dr. Maulana Ron Karenga (founder)

The Seventh Principle is faith which is essentially a profound belief in and commitment to all that is of value to us as a family, community, people and culture.

[I share this with you only because its important to me and sometimes others want to know what values are important in my life]

Happy Kwanzaa - The Power of Choice.

Up until now you may not be aware of this cultural celebration in the African - American community.

Practice choosing:

Choose Awareness, Choose to sample  a new food. Choose to be your highest and  best self everyday. Choose to be loving. Choose to talk to someone who does not look like you. Choose to be Strong and Obedient. Choose to listen to the still small voice inside of you. Choose to be empowered.

Take back your power to choose

And

Use your power of Choice WISELY!

Life Is..

"Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realize it. Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it. Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it." ~ Mother Teresa
